2014 Oklahoma Rural Paramedic Scholarship!
For 2014, five $1,000 scholarships were available funded in part by Air Methods, MediFlight, and Tulsa Life Flight! Please support those who support EMS Success!
Many applications were received from all across the country. Those who applied were independently scored by a 3-person panel based on the following criteria:
Commitment to work for at least 1,000 in a rural EMS agency for a period of at least 1 year. (Oklahoma only)
Congratulations to the following recipients!
Justin Garrett: Justin lives and works in Norman, OK and was recently offered a full-time position as a firefighter/EMT with the Norman Fire Department. Once Justin finishes his paramedic degree at Oklahoma City Community College he plans to seek out part-time work in rural Oklahoma where he has agreed to work for 1,000 hours over at least 1 year at a rural EMS agency. Teresa Stokes: Teresa lives in Jenks, OK and works for Miller EMS in Medford, OK. Teresa has recently completed her paramedic school at Kiamichi Tech Center in Drumwright, OK. Once Teresa gains her paramedic license she plans to seek out part-time work in rural Oklahoma where she has agreed to work for 1,000 hours over at least 1 year at a rural EMS agency.
Shawn Snaith: Shawn lives in Monticello, IA and works for Anamosa Area Ambulance. Shawn has shown dedication to his community as well as professionalism and dedication for EMS. Congratulations, Shawn!
James Heale: James lives in Denver, PA and works as a firefighter/EMT at Anne Arundel County Fire Department. James has shown dedication to his community as well as professionalism and dedication for EMS. Congratulations, James!
